As the World’s “Tiger Day” is coming soon, I keep hearing unexpected news. On May 2, a tiger mom from the Seoul Grand Park zoo gave birth to three cubs which is a very rare thing. And this time, on June 23, another tiger mom from the UK’s Whipsnade Zoo also gave birth to four cubs. The reason why this news is so wonderful is because the two tigers from two zoos are on the top of the list of the highly endangered “Korean Tiger” registered as the direct descendants of the Korean tiger lineage. Right now there are only about 500 of them around the world. They’re commonly called as Amur and Siberian tigers. I read it takes 6 months for the cubs to stop breastfeeding. The mom who forgets how tired she is while she’s licking her cubs must feel very proud.
“세계 호랑이의 날’이 다가오는데 얘들아, 뜻밖의 소식이 연달아 날아오는구나. 서울대공원 동물원의 호랑이가 새끼를 드물게도 네 마리나 낳은게 지난 5월 2일, 이번엔 영국 윕스네이드 동물원 호랑이가 6월 23일, 또 새끼 네 마리를 낳았대는 거야. 왜 이 소식이 이리도 반가운가 하면 두 곳의 호랑이는 모두 멸종위기 1급인 <한국 호랑이>이고 ‘국제 호랑이 혈통서’에 등록되었기 때문이야. 지금은 전 세계에 500마리밖에 남아있지 않다는구나. 보통 <아무르 호랑이 >, <시베리아 호랑이 >라 부르지. 젖을 떼는 데에는 6개월이나 걸린대. 피곤한 줄도 모르고 새끼들을 핥아줘야 하는 에미는 스스로도 흐뭇할거야.
Meninos, o dia mundial do tigre está se aproximando, e várias notícias inesperadas têm aparecido. No dia 02 de maio, o tigre do zoológico de Seoul teve 4 filhotes que é um acontecimento nada comum e desta vez no dia 23 de junho, o tigre do zoo de Whipsnade na Inglaterra também deu à luz mais 4 filhotinhos. Essa notícia é tão bem vinda porque os tigres desses dois lugares são "Tigres Coreanos" que estão na lista de animais em perigo de extinção e estão registrados no "Registro de raça Internacional do Tigre". Parece que agora só sobrou 500 tigres no mundo. Normalmente são chamados de "Tigre Amur" ou "Tigre Siberiano". Eles levam 6 meses até a desamamentação. A mamãe tigre deve estar se sentindo tão orgulhosa que nem sente cansaço lambendo os filhotinhos sem parar.
